18+ and sensitive pages

useClick supports adult creators and anyone whose links are not for every audience. You can label single buttons as 18+, put a whole bio page behind an age confirmation, get visitors out of Instagram's and TikTok's in-app browsers, and keep a backup ready in case a platform bans an account. This guide covers all four.

Before you start

• Adult links are allowed only when they are marked 18+ or sit on a page behind the 18+ page gate. Read the Adult and sensitive content section of the terms.
• Sexually explicit images or media are not allowed on the bio page itself: your profile photo, media blocks and link previews must stay safe for work. Link out to where that content lives.
• The Adult creator template sets up a page with these rules in mind. See Link in bio setup.

Choose the right option

Mark single links as 18+

1. In the bio page editor, open the Content tab.
2. Open the menu of the button and choose Mark as 18+ content. The row gets an 18+ label.

Visitors who tap the button see an 18+ warning first and must tap again to continue. The label is stored on the short link, so it applies on every bio page that uses the link. Choose Remove 18+ label to undo it.

For short links you share outside your bio page, add a content warning (Starter and up) so visitors see a warning page before the destination.

Put the whole page behind an 18+ gate

With the 18+ page gate on, visitors see a full-screen notice, "This page contains content for adults (18+)", before anything else. I'm 18 or older shows the page; Leave takes them away. The answer is remembered until the visitor closes the browser tab, so they are not asked on every tap.

1. Add and verify your own domain on the Custom domains page. Custom domains are free on every plan; see DNS-based domains.
2. In the bio page editor, open the Settings tab and choose that domain under Custom domain (optional).
3. Turn on 18+ page gate.
4. Click Save changes.

If no domain is chosen, the switch shows "Pick your own domain above: 18+ pages can't be published on uclick.bio" and the page is not saved as 18+.

Why an 18+ page needs your own domain

Instagram, TikTok and other platforms judge links by their domain. If one adult page lived on the shared uclick.bio domain and got reported, the platforms could restrict uclick.bio for every useClick user, including you. On your own domain, only your domain carries that risk, and you stay in control of it.

What changes for an 18+ page

• Only on your domain. The page is served on your own domain. Anyone who opens its old uclick.bio/username address is sent to your domain.
• Hidden from search. The page tells search engines not to index it or follow its links, and it carries no structured data. It will not appear in Google results.
• Covered from the start. The notice is in place from the moment the page opens, so nothing on it is visible before the visitor confirms.
• Offline without a domain. If you delete or disconnect the domain later, the page goes offline until you choose another domain in Settings.

Open your page in the visitor's browser

Instagram, TikTok, Snapchat and other apps open links in their own built-in browser. Logins, payments and some subscription sites break there, and visitors are not signed in. This setting shows those visitors a slim bar at the top of your page, "Open in your browser for the best experience", with an Open button that continues in Safari or Chrome.

1. Open the Settings tab of the bio page editor.
2. Turn on Open in the visitor's browser.
3. Click Save changes.

• The bar appears only inside in-app browsers (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Snapchat, X, LinkedIn and Line). Visitors in a normal browser never see it.
• Where the app does not allow opening another browser directly, the bar explains how instead: "Tap ⋯ then Open in browser".
• Visitors can close the bar; it stays closed for the rest of their visit.
• On an 18+ page, the bar appears after the visitor has confirmed their age.
• It is free on every plan, and the Adult creator template turns it on for you.

Keep a backup for banned accounts

Accounts on subscription and social platforms get suspended or deleted, sometimes without warning. Every button on your bio page is a short link, so you can give it a backup URL (Growth and up), such as your account on another platform or your own site. When the daily check finds the main destination gone (for example a 404 or 410), visitors are sent to the backup until it is back.

1. In Edit bio link, click More link settings: destination, password, expiry, backup URL.
2. On the link's page, click Edit link and fill in Backup URL.
3. Click Save changes.

Good to know

• You can combine everything: an 18+ page on your own domain, with the in-app browser bar, 18+ labels on single buttons and backup URLs.
• If you move below Starter, an 18+ page stays gated. You cannot switch the gate on for another page until you upgrade again.
• Pages or links that break the rules, or put the shared domains at risk, can be removed or suspended. See the terms.

Troubleshooting

"18+ pages need your own domain"

The gate was switched on without a domain. Connect and verify a domain on Custom domains, choose it under Custom domain (optional), then turn the gate on again and save.

My 18+ page shows "not found" on uclick.bio

18+ pages are never shown on uclick.bio. If your domain is verified, visitors are sent there; if it is not, the page is offline. Check the domain's status on Custom domains.

The browser bar does not show on my phone

It only appears inside an app's built-in browser, not in Safari or Chrome. Open your page from a link in Instagram or TikTok to see it. If you closed it before, open the page in a new session.
