Every page view UseClick records carries a country-level location signal. Visitor Geography is where that signal turns into something you can actually read: a shaded world map, a spinning 3D globe with live activity, and ranked lists for countries, regions, and cities.
It lives inside Website Analytics, alongside the rest of your traffic dashboard, so a geography filter carries through to every other tab instead of living in an isolated report.
This page walks through how the map and globe actually work, what the Countries, Regions, and Cities tabs show, and, because location data is sensitive by nature, exactly what UseClick does and does not collect to build it.
The 2D World Map
The default view is a choropleth: a D3-rendered map built on Natural Earth SVG data, with each country shaded by how much traffic it has sent you. Darker fill means more traffic; countries with no recorded visits stay unshaded.
Hover for the Numbers
Hovering any country surfaces a tooltip with its traffic count, so you can scan the map for hotspots without leaving the visual.
Click to Filter
Clicking a country does more than highlight it. It switches you straight to the Countries tab with that country applied as a filter, and that filter carries across the rest of your dashboard until you clear it.
The Interactive 3D Globe
Switch views and the same data renders on a WebGL globe you can drag and spin. Countries are colored by the same traffic magnitude as the map, with a legend explaining the scale.
Live Ping Beacons
The globe plays back roughly your last 30 page views as beacons landing on the map in real time. A beacon renders green while it's under two minutes old, then settles as the trail moves on.
Magnitude Legend
A legend alongside the globe maps color intensity to traffic volume, so the shading means the same thing whether you're looking at the flat map or the sphere.
Expand to the Full View
The compact globe expands into a larger modal for when you actually want to watch it during a launch or a live event.
Live Activity Feed
The expanded view adds a running feed of the individual page views feeding the beacons, so you can see what's landing as it happens.
Top 25 Countries
A side list ranks your top 25 countries by traffic next to the globe, giving you the numbers and the visual in the same view.
One Click Filters the Whole Dashboard
The map, the globe, and the Countries, Regions, and Cities tabs are all wired to the same filter. Click a country anywhere, a shaded region on the map, a colored country on the globe, a row in a list, and UseClick switches to the Countries tab with that filter applied across your whole analytics view, not just the geography widget.
That means a country you click while looking at geography stays applied if you jump over to check referrers, devices, or pages for that same audience.

Every country with recorded traffic, ranked highest to lowest.

Proportional Bars
Each row carries a magnitude bar sized relative to the top entry, so you can compare countries or cities at a glance instead of reading numbers down a column.
The Details Modal
Each tab shows the top 9 entries inline. Past that, a Details modal opens the full ranked list, useful once you're past your top handful of markets and want the long tail.
These tabs track site-wide visitor traffic. If you need geography for an individual short link's clicks instead, that lives under Analytics.
Server-Side, Country-Level, No IP Ever Stored
Location data is sensitive, so Visitor Geography is built around one rule: it never touches an IP address.
Header-Based, Not IP Lookup
Geolocation is derived server-side from the request's country header. There's no separate service resolving each visitor's IP into a location behind the scenes.
Country-Level by Design
The signal driving the map, the globe, and the filter is country-level. UseClick does not build location data by resolving a raw IP address.
No IP Address, Ever
Consistent with the rest of UseClick's analytics, the IP address itself is never stored, not temporarily and not in any form.
Embed the Globe Anywhere
The 3D globe isn't locked to your dashboard. It can be embedded as a standalone public iframe, complete with a "Powered by UseClick.io" badge, so you can drop live visitor geography onto your own site, a status page, or a client report.

Every embedded globe carries the badge, crediting UseClick and giving viewers a path back to try it themselves. There's no option to remove it.
