How every link is tagged

Each link gets four tags. The first three describe the campaign, the fourth tells you exactly which button and which post the visitor came from.

  • utm_source

    The platform: instagram, tiktok, youtube, x or newsletter.

    utm_source=instagram
  • utm_medium

    The kind of channel: social for platforms, email for newsletters.

    utm_medium=social
  • utm_campaign

    One shared name for the launch or promotion.

    utm_campaign=autumn_launch
  • utm_content

    Button name and post name, joined by two underscores.

    utm_content=new_arrivals__launch_reel

Same button, different post

Because the button and the post both live in utm_content, you can sort your sales report by it and see which button on which post sold, not only which platform.

From bio tap to sale report

The links are half the job. This is how to read the result.

Give each platform its own bio link

If every platform points to one identical bio page, nothing on that page can tell Instagram from TikTok. Use a separate bio page link per platform, and put that platform's tagged links on its buttons.

With useClick:

Plans include one to twenty bio pages, and every button is a tracked short link, so each tap is counted next to your sales numbers.

Check that your shop keeps the tags

UTM values only help if your shop or checkout stores them with each order and shows them in a report. Place a test order from a tagged link and look for the tags before you rely on the numbers.

Compare taps with sales

Put the button taps next to the sales per utm_content. A button with many taps and few sales points at the product page. A button with few taps and strong sales is worth moving up.

  • Taps per button, from your bio page analytics
  • Sales per utm_content, from your shop report
  • Sales per utm_source, to compare platforms

What this tool does not do

It creates links. It does not count orders, and it cannot see inside your shop. Follow visits and conversions with website analytics once the tags are in place.

Names that stay comparable

The builder normalizes what you type so the same thing always gets the same tag.

Why normalization matters

Analytics tools treat different spellings as different values. Lowercase letters, numbers and single underscores keep one button from showing up as three rows in your report.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

It builds one tagged link for every combination of bio button, platform and post. You enter your shop URL, a campaign name, your buttons with their destinations, the platforms you post on and the names of your posts. It returns the full list of links with consistent utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign and utm_content values, ready to copy or export as a CSV.

No. It only creates the links. To see sales per tag, your shop or checkout has to keep the UTM values in its sales reports, and you compare them with the click counts of your bio buttons. Website analytics and conversion goals have to be set up separately if you want the visit-to-sale journey.

If Instagram and TikTok both point to one identical bio page, the visit to that page cannot reveal which platform sent the person, and every button on it carries the same tags. Give each platform its own bio page link, and use the links for that platform on its buttons. useClick plans include between one and twenty bio pages, depending on the plan.

In lowercase, with letters and numbers only. Spaces and symbols become one underscore, accents are removed, and if two names turn into the same value, the later ones get _2, _3 and so on, so no two links collide. utm_content combines the button name and the post name with two underscores, for example new_arrivals__launch_reel.

No. The links, copy buttons and CSV are all created in your browser. The tool saves nothing to cookies or local storage, and a refresh resets it to the example data.

Yes. Each row has the button, platform and post labels, the four UTM values and the final URL. Cells that start with =, +, - or @ are prefixed so a spreadsheet cannot run them as formulas.
